Hot 303Lowe creative team Helen King and Alex Bolderoff have resigned from the agency to move east and join BMF Sydney. The pair start with BMF October 1st.
King and Bolderoff have shot to prominence over the past 12 months, with King topping the Campaign Brief WA Creative Rankings and Bolderoff ranking #5. They are the creators of the IKEA ‘Valentine’s Day’ press ad that has won nationally and internationally: a finalist at Cannes, Silver at AWARD and Silver Nomination at D&AD amongst others.
Bolderoff also won a Silver Medal in the Cannes Young Lions Cyber competition in 2013.

It’s great to see young teams moving out of Perth. It’s a dying market here – get out, get out while you can!
Perth is a stale market, with fairly uninspiring clients , any good creative worth his or her salt should follow Helen and Alex’s suit and get the hell out.

The tragedy is, it’s now nearly impossible for a creative to build or sustain a career in advertising in Perth. I can only hope we’ve hit bottom and the only way now is up. To Helen and Alex, a big congratulations and the very best of luck over east.
There are loads of talented creatives in WA. But they simply aren’t attracted to advertising anymore. That’s all. There are other ways for smart people to reach an audience now and still keep hold of their integrity. And until there are more inspiring leaders in agencies, prepared give their teams more scope to explore briefs beyond the bread-and-butter channels – then sell these into clients – this will continue.
Real proud of you two! Blaze new trails! Just remember your roots and be true to who you are! Big ups!!!
