Fuel session: Creative Fuel + CB to host webinar with David Sable, global CEO Y&R + Cannes Lions Creative Effectiveness jury president

The half-hour chat takes place at 9.30am AEST on Friday, 4 July. 2014.

Grab a café au lait, your sunnies and imagine you’re sitting on the Promenade de la Croisette as Sable and ADMA CEO Jodie Sangster talk about their key takeaways from the 2014 Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity.

They’ll discuss emerging trends in advertising, the ads that won their hearts, the highs and lows of the annual festival and how the festival has evolved since Sable started attending it more than 30 years ago.

Responsible for Y&R’s 187 offices in 91 countries since 2011, Sable began his career at Y&R in 1976 and has held leadership roles at other Y&R companies.

An early digital entrepreneur, he advocates that the core of the advertising business is striking the right balance between creativity (storytelling) and innovation, which drives stories through the right channels.

Sable is a regular blogger on Huffington Post and a LinkedIn Influencer. He has also written for Google Think Insights and Fast Company magazine. He is often sought out for his opinions on the industry in US-based publications such as Advertising Age, ADWEEK and Forbes.

Sable is director-at-large of the American Association of Advertising Agencies (the 4As) and was a founding member of its Digital Advisory Board. A director of the Advertising Council he has served on a wide range of juries; his favourite in recent years being the Titanium panel at Cannes.

In addition, Sable serves as chair of UNICEF’s New York board and has been recognised by Fast Company as one of the 10 Most Generous People in Marketing and Advertising.
