StJohns_BreakTheBarrier_BLOG.jpgA disappointing week for Perth at Cannes so far has been given a lift with The Penguin Empire’s shortlisting in the Film Craft Lions in Cannes.

The Penguin Empire has been shortlisted for Direction of The Brand Agency’s St John Ambulance ‘Break the barrier’ TVC. The commercial was directed by Grant Sputore.

It’s the only shortlisting achieved by Perth this year, and one of just a handful from Australia. Only two Australian production companies were shortlisted in Direction.

Speaking to Campaign Brief when the TVC was released, co-creator, Craig Buchanan, said Sputore and done an outstanding job on the production: “To achieve that level of performance in an actor is no mean feat.”

Buchanan and Sputore are both currently in Cannes. Film Craft winners will be announced on Saturday night in Cannes.
