AdamBlake_MoniqueTheron_BLOG.jpgWeb development agency BlakeMedia has acquired Victoria Park graphic design business Moondust Design, bolstering the full service digital agency with additional capability to service Perth small and medium businesses.

The acquisition sees BlakeMedia add specialist graphic design and print competency, supplementing its established web development business model. Moondust Design will continue to operate as a separate business unit and leverage BlakeMedia’s resources, with Creative Director Monique Theron (above left) remaining in that role and working with existing and new clients.

With both businesses boasting a strong Perth client base, the acquisition is beneficial for the local market according to BlakeMedia’s Managing Director, Adam Blake (above right).

“Perth small and medium businesses now have a unique alternative for custom web design and development, in a market where service providers tend to specialise primarily in one or the other discipline,” Blake said. “Monique Theron is one of Perth’s leading designers and Moondust Design has always had a strong commitment to helping businesses market to local clientele. Moondust Design was a finalist in Belmont’s Small Business Awards in 2010, 2011 and 2012 so we’re really pleased to add a business of such standing to our group.”

Theron noted the new possibilities for existing Moondust Design clients, who will see no change to their current relationship given the nature of the acquisition.

“It’s an exciting opportunity, not just to join and grow alongside the BlakeMedia team, but for my clients who I am certain will benefit from Adam and his team’s knowledge and experience in the digital sphere.” said Theron.

Blake said the acquisition is reflective of a wider industry trend towards amalgamation, while at the same time necessary to meet renewed demand for custom web development and design.

“We’ve seen a big push back by Perth businesses seeking custom online and design solutions that capture brand personality, because customers see great design as a source of credibility. In a stagnant economy that’s important. We were adamant Moondust should continue operating as an independent business unit so current and new clients continue to receive the same level of service. That’s essential to us and we know it’s meaningful for local businesses.”
