Adam Barrell to lead new Haystac office in Perth
Haystac, one of Australia & New Zealand’s leading PR and marketing communications agencies, this week launched in Perth, with social media specialist Adam Barrell (pictured left) appointed to lead the agency.
Barrell joins Haystac with extensive experience in the digital and social media space, having held roles as a freelance web developer and designer and social media strategist at Trilogy Advertising and Marketing.
He was a delegate at AdFest this year and wrote a series of reports for Campaign Brief.
Barrell’s entrepreneurial streak – and Perth pride – saw him found ‘Tweet Perth’, now one of Perth’s most influential and trusted Twitter accounts providing a hub for the Perth Twitter community.
Haystac’s National General Manager, Patrick O’Beirne (pictured below), said entering the WA market with a distinct digital PR and social media offer is a deliberate strategy.
“We’ve carried out some heavy due diligence in WA over recent months and following consultation with existing clients, our peers in the local communications network and our Perth-based Dentsu Aegis Network sister agencies, we concluded that Perth is hungry for more digital PR consulting expertise.
“We will move quickly to round-out our full-service offering by introducing our other national communications practice areas including consumer PR, corporate affairs and behavioural change communications.”
O’Beirne said Haystac is already a recognisable agency name in Perth through its administration of the London Benchmarking Group (LBG), the global standard for measuring corporate community investment. Many large leading WA-based corporate organisations are members of LBG, including Wesfarmers, Woodside, Atlas Iron and Western Power.
“We are thrilled to open our doors in Perth,” O’Beirne added. “Having a presence in the West completes a true trans-Tasman offer. We will seize this opportunity with plenty of enthusiasm.”
Luke Littlefield, CEO of the Dentsu Aegis Network said, “Haystac is well positioned to launch in Perth and offer their social expertise to the market. We can now offer clients great service in five key markets across Australia and New Zealand and see Perth as a fantastic opportunity to grow Haystac and integrate further with other businesses in the Dentsu Aegis Network.”
On his new role at Haystac, Barrell said, “Good content and social media strategy are two areas experiencing increasing interest in the marketing communications mix in Perth. Indeed many have been calling out for it for some time! Haystac has a great reputation in other markets for creating impactful and effective campaigns for a large set of high profile clients so I look forward to helping paint the new Perth picture.”
