Channel Nine’s David Mott donates bottle of 1970 Grange Hermitage to Oasis Ball Silent Auction

Channel Nine Perth MD David Mott has pulled a very special wine out of his cellar for the Oasis Ball Silent Auction – a bottle of 1970 Penfolds Grange Hermitage.

CB’s consultant wine wanker – sorry, ‘afficionado’ – had this to say about it:

“Wow, this is a special wine, fit for the highbrow crowd at the Oasis Ball! Impress your friends, boss, wine wanker mates – just about everybody will be your friend when you pull this legend out at dinner. Save it for a special occasion though, with friends that don’t drink much so you can have heaps. 1970 was a mild to dry growing season with the usual intense fruit. When you open this thing you’ll sniff complex aromas of  mushrooms, cedar and leathery tones. Subtle fruit now. What a treat and a story that will last for ever! Go on – you deserve it.”
