Tourism WA to review advertising account currently with Sydney-based agency Host

Tourism WA has issued an early tender advice on their above-the-line advertising account, currently with Host Sydney. The pitch is bound to be excitedly welcomed by Perth’s largest agencies, who have long bemoaned the fact that one of Western Australia’s premier and prestigious accounts has been handled by an east coast agency for the past four and a half years.
Host Sydney beat 303 Perth and BMF Sydney to the appointment in July 2009. Previous incumbent, Marketforce, decided at the time to not participate in the review.

This needs to return to WA. Difficult job but surely MF, 303, Meerkats, Brand and a few others will give it a go.
Will it really move?
Times have moved on since 2009. And not in a good way for some Perth agencies. Good luck to whoever pitches. They’ll need it.
This may turn out to be the real poisoned chalice of WA Government advertising…even worse than Lotteries Commission!
