Channel 9 Perth donates $100,000 to Telethon

Channel9_Telethon_donation.jpgA record-breaking $20.7 million was raised by Channel 7’s Telethon over the weekend, including a big donation from rival Channel Nine.

In a nice display of community spirit, 9 Perth Managing Director David Mott presented Telethon with a donation of $100,000 on behalf of the management and staff.

“I have a healthy respect for Kerry Stokes and Channel 7 and we at Channel 9 Perth are delighted to make this donation to Telethon to support the all important medical research that benefits the Western Australian community,” said Mott. “Every other day we will fight the good fight in the competitive TV business we are in, however today is not one of those days,” Mott added.

Mott along with Channel Nine Perth news presenters Tim McMillan and Lee Steele and  Nine Perth staff  presented Telethon Manager Steve Mummery with the generous donation.
