96fm, Nova 93.7 figure strongly in 2013 Australian Commercial Radio Awards nominations

2013ACRA_RadioStations_BLOG.jpgFinalists in the 25th annual Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRA’s) were announced this morning. A record number of nearly 1300 entries were received from 260 metro and regional radio stations across Australia.

Fairfax Radio Perth has 6 nominations, including 96fm’s Wayne McLean and Brad McNally for Best Music Director and Best Program Director respectively.

Nova 93.7’s Daniel Underhill is also a finalist for Best Program Director. He is one of 5 finalists for the station, which also include: Nova 93.7 Team for Best Sales Achievement; Antonell Doyle for Best Direct Sales Person; Kristy Marshall for Best Agency Salesperson; and perennial finalist Gary Roberts for Most Popular Station Manager.

Southern Cross Austereo has 12 finalists but only 1 metropolitan: ‘Trust Your Ears’ by Mix 94.5’s Garry Dean in Best Station Produced Commercial – Campaign. SCA’s other 11 finalists are from Radio West & Hot FM stations.

The winners will be announced at a gala black tie event on October 12 at Brisbane’s Royal International Convention Centre.
