Finalists for Community Newspaper Group, WAN in PANPA Ad Awards for in-house excellence
Finalists have been announced by The Newspaper Works for the 2013 Ad Awards for in-house excellence in advertising execution and sales. WA’s Community Newspaper Group has two finalists in the Best advertising feature or supplement Circ.90,000+ category, while WA Newspapers has 8 finalists across 6 categories.
CNG’s Prestige Appeal and Eat Drink Perth advertising features are both vying for Best Advertising Feature or Supplement. Prestige Appeal was the brainchild of sales manager Oliver Warr (pictured above left) who conceived the idea of targeting the key AB demographic within the company’s broader circulation footprint. Prestige Appeal attracted clients such as Crown Perth, BMW and Sony.
Community Newspaper Group’s Agency and Major Accounts Manager, Gaye Blomfield (pictured above right), worked closely with the City of Perth and their Agency on the Eat Drink Perth feature, which involved working across a number of areas of the business.
“City of Perth had a great response to this product and the bars/restaurants etc in Perth said it was a fantastic and very successful product. Everyone who worked on this gave it everything they had… everyone who worked on this product is responsible for it being a finalist – including City of Perth who were great to work with.”
Editor-in-Chief Greg Thomson thanked Beverly Ligman-Smith for her work in editing the Eat Drink Perth content for the City of Perth. CNG’s sales director Christine Sutherland said both products had succeeded in their markets, and would provide a blueprint for future supplements.
“It is great to receive recognition from our peers, and we’re delighted on behalf of our clients.”
