MarquisPohla2_Blog.jpgMetrix Consulting has been recognised for its success as a start-up business, making the Top 50 in the 2013 StartupSmart Awards. Each year approximately 300,000 enterprises are started across Australia. The awards, now in their third year, recognise the fastest-growing, most innovative start-up businesses across the country.

Marquis Pohla (pictured), Managing Director of Metrix, was thrilled to be recognised in the top 25 start-upbusinesses.

“I started Metrix during the global financial crisis. Despite the circumstances I believed there was a gap in the marketplace and built a value proposition that would allow our firm to capitalise on the opportunity. In 3 years Metrix has grown from a sole operated home based business to a team of 12 professionals. It recently moved to new premises in West Perth to accommodate this growth.

“We have disrupted the traditional model in our industry; we have gone outside the box in an attempt to redefine our category and reshape perceptions of the value we bring to clients. Metrix has a strong focus on synthesising clients’ data sources and visualising data in new ways, which has been really well received by the market, and it is great to have that recognised through this award.”

Oliver Milman, editor of StartupSmart.com.au and one of the Awards judges said: “We are delighted with the record number of entries to the awards, which demonstrate the exceptional depth in strength in Australian entrepreneurialism. The judges had the hard job of choosing between a number of fantastic early-stage companies. What makes their achievement even more impressive is that many of them started during the worst days of the GFC, requiring exceptional hard work and innovation, particularly in the online space, to succeed.”
