Moana_baby.jpgIn the few short weeks that Crescendo has been working with Moana in the Youngbloods Make a Band Famous competition, there has been a nice rise of interest in the band’s Facebook profile. While social media is the main criteria judged by Youngbloods, it’s not Crescendo’s only campaign focus. Crescendo want to create something lasting for Moana to take away from this experience and help build a loyal following for a truly talented band

Forming Crescendo are Stefan Schoombee, Account Coordinator, OMD WA, Luke Slater, Account Coordinator, Marketforce, Emma Williamson, Production Coordinator, 303Lowe, Lucy Stoelwinder, Account Coordinaror, Gatecrasher, Elisa Nuich, Student, Curtin University and Verity Moule, Account Executive, Workhouse.

Freo1.jpgValentine’s Day provided a special opportunity for Moana to build their profile and project their unique identity. Lucky Fremantle train line commuters had a little love brought to them courtesy of lead singer Moana Lutton and bassist Javan Gorham, who serenaded patrons with classic love song covers while handing out personalised cards for people to pass on to their Valentine. Thanks go to Pilpel Printing  who co-ordinated the printing of cards and signs.

People were also photographed holding signs with love song lyrics that were then uploaded to Moana’s facebook page. The rationale behind this was to encourage people to visit the band’s page to see their photo from the day. On this one day alone Moana’s facebook likes rose by over 100. This partnership with Crescendo has helped Moana reach the 500 likes mark. Check out their facebook page to see the shots, captured by the talented Giselle Natassia.

Next up for Moana is her performance at Emergence Creative Festival in Margaret River. Her spooky ukulele instrumental can be heard on Illusory’s promotional video for the festival. For anyone interested in a little psychedelic grunge, be sure to check out her show at the opening of Emergence tonight.

You can also catch Moana at the Norfolk Basement in Freo on Saturday 23 February. They know how to put on a good show and are supporting some great artists, so get down and have a look.

Youngbloods have kindly extended the competition time for their teams. The new event date will be up on Friday with venue details and ticket information, keep an eye out on Campaign Brief; proud sponsors of the Make a Band Famous competition.
