Lateral Aspect tests the willpower for lamb
Creative agency Lateral Aspect Perth has produced a TVC for lamb brand Valley Spring, producing the spot in Melbourne with Rocket Surgery Films director/producer team of Ian Reiser and Justin Bardolph.
‘Boxing Day Test’ is a humorous look at the test of willpower between a beautiful lamb roast and a young, hungry Boxer dog. The ad follows Lateral’s last red meat spot ‘Rump’, which was a finalist at the FAB International Creative Excellence Awards in London.
Says Lateral Aspect creative director Mark Lucas: “The decision to do the production in Victoria was both a chance to work with an exciting production crew and consider business opportunities.
“We’ve been doing bits and pieces in Melbourne and talking to Rocket Surgery about this job for some time. Our creative structure means we can be anywhere and over the past few years a lot of our work has been overseas, doing rebranding and project work in multiple countries for clients and in conjunction with other agencies. Now we’re keen to have a look at resourcing or JV’ing with Victorian agencies that may need a WIWO creative team or individual,” Lucas said.

I love this. makes me smile
That is a GREAT little spot.
Very nice. Beautifully written. Well done guys!
Great work. And Great direction Izza.
Watch the Director’s reel to see the seed of the idea… practice makes perfect I guess, because the latest one is a lovely spot.
On the website it says “Lateral Aspect is an award winning boutique advertising agency offering both clients and other agencies direct access to blue-chip creatives.” Given what is happening in the rest of the Perth Advertising community, this could soon be a unique point of difference.
Yeah there’s another spot on the directors reel that is incredibly similar, but as the previous commentor says this is definitely the better version.
Very cute idea, beautifully executed. Yum.
A smart advert from a Perth agency… Well done.
This is probably going to be my favourite ad of the year. Simple concept. Great execution. Well done to all involved!
