303Lowe, Marketforce, Gatecrasher and Groves & Groves awaiting a decision on iiNet business
A decision is expected as early as this week on the fate of iiNet, one of Western Australia’s largest and most prestigious accounts.
Four Perth agencies presented on the business two weeks ago.
Selected to be part of the review were 303Lowe, Marketforce, Gatecrasher and Groves & Groves.
Marketforce currently look after existing iiNet subsidiary Westnet. Jim Groves established Groves & Groves after leaving Meerkats, where he worked on the iiNet business, about 18 months ago. He has recently partnered up with former 303Lowe star creative, Dav Tabeshfar.
iiNet, one of Perth’s largest accounts, was resigned by Meerkats last month. The client has also recently appointed BWM Sydney to the business and they recently launched iiNet’s latest “Life Upgraded” integrated brand campaign.
Industry reports speculate the account to be worth between $6 million to $9 million, however the strong belief is that the majority of this budget will be under the guardianship of BWM Sydney. That said, this is still a sizeable and important appointment which will be justifiably celebrated by the appointed agency.

iiNet seems like a company that should be taking digital more seriously than they are – and the current stock of local marketing agencies don’t seem to have a good grasp on digital at all (even with BWM; iiNet’s new Life Upgraded TVCs are nice, the mini-site is abismal). IMO I don’t see much changing regardless of who wins this account.
Decision made.
Well done MF
