Marketforce cutbacks see Silvana Visinoni and Tracey Blanchard plus others leave the agency
One of Perth’s most respected account service people, Silvana Visinoni, has been retrenched from Marketforce along with at least three other workmates.
Visinoni (pictured left) has been with Marketforce for over 18 years and she is one of yesterday’s retrenchment moves at the agency that also included group account director Tracey Blanchard, X-Press account director Bernard Morris and planner Andrew Davey.
The move follows the loss of Brownes Dairy to Meerkats and a general downturn in the economy.
The agency is not alone with retrenchment with Gatecrasher having recently retrenched a similar number of staff including senior copywriter Des Hameister, who has subsequently turned to freelance work.
Hameister (pictured below) who recently wrote the admired Alcoholics Anonymous radio campaign told CB that he was looking for full time or freelance work in Perth.
Gatecrasher has also moved a couple of people to part time positions.

A guarded & fiercely protected MF lieutenant…gone after 18 years. Just like that. Stunned.
I really feel for all the staff that have been made part time and retrenched at Gatecrasher and Marketforce. There really isn’t much work around in Perth and employment in general is scarce. My heart goes out to their families and I hope that they find new job opportunities quickly.
What are the guys at Gatecrasher thinking?!

Silvans is a superstar and an awesome lady, it’s a lucky agency that gets her next. Onwards and upwards.
The owners and leaders of the various agencies around town have had their Nero moments as the industry burned. Now’s the time to forget the boats and second homes and focus on bringing back all the business that has gone over east by clearly re-stating what the WA offering is and why local business – government included – can get everything they need from local shops.
Silvana is the BEST Account Director I’ve ever come across, terrible for all involved. Keep moving forward, something favulous will come your way because you deserve it.

You can take Silv out of Marketforce but you’ll never take the force out of Silv. I’m stunned but know it will be “all good”!
Cant really see it being all good for Silvana or Marketforce.
So what’s next? with iinet and RAC gone East Meerkats and The Brand have big pot holes to fill. Both will no doubt be gunning hard for ORS. 303 have done a great job on Speed. The road ahead may prove to be even rockier.
Who in their right mind would want an account like ORS! Way too much demand put on account service for very little pay off.
It sucks for Silv, but she will be fine! So will Tracey.
Terrible news for Silvana, but the most telling thing over the past year has been the complete lack of profile a once great agency has in the market. It’s like the creative department has given up. We never see any of their work and all we hear is bad news. Guys, sack your pr department, not Silv.
I can’t see Silv getting her weekly hairdos at Priceline. She’ll be back swinging quicker than we know it.
Ex it’s not that they’ve given up-they’ve got nothing left to work on! And IMO Regardless of wether or not ORS is a pain in the arse, it’s probably their last remaining creative opportunity.
Andrew and Bernard are great guys also whose work has largely gone unnoticed. Their genuine interest and care will be missed.
One of these talented ex-MF’ers is now stocking shelves at Coles. Very disappointing.
