iiNET adds BWM, Sydney to the agency roster to handle B2B and digital arms of the business
Following news that iiNet is about to undergo a pitch after Meerkats resigned the business, Belgiovane Williams Mackay Sydney has been appointed to the roster for the digital and B2B arms of the iiNet business.
iiNet and its combined brand portfolio continues to grow strongly and is Australia’s second largest ISP.
Wendy Walker, chief marketing officer at iiNet made the appointment and said the addition of BWM to the roster would lend a greater level of expertise to the company’s marketing efforts.
Says Walker: “BWM’s knowledge and capability in the ISP category combined with its digital and B2B understanding gives iiNet a distinct competitive advantage.”
The account win comes off the back of a strong period of growth for BWM which has included $102m of new business including TAB, Amcal, and additional brand assignments for the Simplot group including Leggo’s.
Says Simon Hadfield, BWM Sydney general manager: “We’re excited to be working with Wendy in the future development of the iiNet brand in such a fast-moving industry.”
The agency is currently working on a new cross-channel brand campaign.

I remember a few years ago when WA agencies would regularly steal business from over east. What happened? I’m sure Sydney agencies haven’t got better, so it can only be that local agencies are perceived to have a less compelling offering. Certainly the flow of creative talent appears to have been one-way in recent years, but that’s clearly not the whole story. This business should have been in the bag for one of the big locals, same as RAC
What will WA agencies pitch on?
