Bouncing Orange brings street art inside

Digital agency Bouncing Orange has enlisted some emerging Perth-based street artists to colour up its Mt Lawley based studio.

Scott Armstrong (who operates under the guise of ‘HI8US’ ) was engaged to provide a series of large internal canvases as well as to manage a small team of artists to paint up the stairwell entry.

“The opportunity to paint up a space like this is pretty rare so we wanted to create something that was not only visually engaging and clever but also something that tied in directly with Bouncing Orange and what they do,” said Armstrong. “It was a pleasure to work with an openminded, supportive and innovative company that is willing to use this type of art and design to represent their business and workspace.”

The results meld a few different artistic styles into an ‘orange’ based theme.

Upon entry, an iconic Disney-esque image of Snow White is seen holding an orange instead of an apple and as you move up the stairs closer to the front door we see a wicked witch whose hair flows into an orange tree. A third female character is picking the oranges from the tree and putting them into a robot that turns the fruit into little creative characters.

“Our desire was to create an entry that acts as a transitional space from the busy world into our creative work space,” said Bouncing Orange Creative Director Adam Rule. “Street art is not everyone’s cup of tea but was the obvious choice given the industrial architecture of the studio. We also want to challenge our staff and clients into thinking outside of the box and this kind of bold artistic statement communicates just that. Once Scott and his team came on board they brought great creativity and execution to the work.”
