The Communications Council WA launches Media Agency Membership
The Communications Council Western Australia has announced the launch of a membership catering for local media agencies. An initiative of the local Committee, the model is introduced with a view to better representing the broader Western Australian marketing communications industry.
“With the merging of the AFA, AWARD, APG the APMA, and the forging of closer links with the MFA, the body is increasingly representative of the industry. This has sparked a rapid growth in WA agency membership, and along that an increasing demand of media agencies to participate in its activities” says Alan Taylor, Chairman of the Communications Council WA Committee. “We previously did not have specific membership for Media Agencies but in the interest of good involvement and industry equity in WA, we are now launching it.”
The membership enables media agencies to create discussion and actively participate, contribute and develop the local industry and opens the possibility to drive programs that are beneficial to them.
In addition, member agencies get access to member benefits such as discounts to AdSchool training courses and workshops, involvement and invitations to professional development and industry events, including Effies and the Circus festival.
A recently joined media member is Initiative Media. Managing Director, Christopher O’Keefe (pictured), commented on its joining: “Initiative has long recognised the Communications Council’s ongoing contribution to the WA market so when the opportunity arose to become a member we welcomed the chance to join an organisation with such a respected presence. In an industry such as ours, high standards of ethics and business practice are integral, the Communications Council’s commitment to instilling these values in the next generation through education and training are to be commended.”
