The position
This management position supports the development of policies, strategies and plans across all divisions to ensure effective external and internal communications. The role will require media management and public relations support which promotes the Department’s Corporate Vision and Objectives in the provision of products and services to the mineral and petroleum industry.
In this role you will be functionally accountable to the General Manager, Communications and Marketing, for the effective management and continuous improvement of all activities of the Communication unit. You will provide communication advice, support and services to the Minister’s Office, Directors and Managers of business units; you will help to ensure the achievement of operational objectives while preparing strategic communication plans and assisting with operational plans, while overseeing management and performance of the communication team.
Job Requirements/Competencies
To undertake this role successfully you require:
- Broad journalism, communications and/or public relations experience.
- Demonstrated experience in development, analysis and implementation of communications policies and strategies.
- Demonstrated success in providing leadership and project management.
