The Box continues to pick up awards recognition for Curtin University and The Brand Agency

Curtin_TheBox.gifThe Brand Agency has picked up a Bronze award at the 33rd John Caples International Awards held overnight in New York, for its Curtin University campaign, The Box. The award was won for Use of Media in the Integrated Campaigns category and follows on from The Box’s Gold at The Effies and APG Awards, Best in Show at the AMI Awards and Bronze at ADMA.

The John Caples International Awards honour the best in direct and interactive marketing around the world, judged by over 60 senior creative directors. The Brand Agency was Perth’s only winner on a big night for Australian and New Zealand agencies.

Outside of The Brand’s Bronze, notable winners from Australia and New Zealand were: Colenso BBDO/AIM Proximity, Auckland’s Yellow Pages ‘Yellow Treehouse’ campaign won the only Gold in the Campaigns category, and one of only two Golds in the Interactive Category plus Bronze in the Microsite category.

BMF Sydney won the other Gold in the Interactive category for their Tooheys Extra Dry ‘6 Beers of Separation’ campaign.

SapientNitro, Brisbane won one of only four Silvers handed out in the Interactive category for Tourism Queensland ‘Best Job in the World’, as did AIM Proximity, Auckland for The Warehouse ‘Valentines 09’ campaign.

And Tequila, Sydney won one of three Bronze awards handed out in the Interactive category for Nissan Australia ‘Take the Wheel’ campaign.

And M&C Saatchi/Mark, Sydney won the only Silver in the same category, for their Optus ‘Tape Recorder’ DM piece.

DraftFCB, Auckland won two of the three Bronze Awards in the same category, one for Genesis Energy ‘Boot Polish’, the other for Genesis Energy ‘The Tragic Direct Mail Piece’.

Both are new Caples categories.

The John Caples International Awards was founded in 1978 by Andi Emerson, a direct marketing pioneer, in order to honor well-recognized copywriter John Caples. With international chairs in 50 countries, it is funded by industry agencies, clients and suppliers; is run by industry volunteers and is judged by more than 100 active, senior-level, international creative professionals. Between 200-300 creatives and marketers from around the world attend the annual dinner and presentation.
