Cooch creates cut-through outdoor for SunSmart
Two of Perth’s most popular beaches are also the place where the majority of SunSmart’s young target audience head for in summer. Cooch Creative was asked to create a poster that the target could relate to and also to keep in mind the serious consequences of too much sun.
The agency’s solution was to create interactive bus stop posters which were a serious reminder of the dangers of too much sun but also let the target help to protect themselves.
A sunscreen dispenser was built into each bus shelter site to dispense free sunscreen to anyone walking by or waiting for a bus. It was placed in the site of the skin cancer marked for surgery.
Cooch CD Ron Samuel said the idea to put the dispenser into the Adshel came from media buying shop OMD.

“They came to us with the idea of being able to do it from a practical perspective but didn’t know how it would fit into the campaign, which is what we did. It is a good example of media thinking creatively and being an active part of the creative process,” said Samuel.
Creatives: Ron Samuel, Mick Colliss, Spencer Battista, Aleisha Zappia.

Why would anyone want to put their hand into a wide-excision wound? This isn’t Crash, for fuck’s sake.
I rthink this is really good. Well done. And 4.53, I think most people are smart enough to know that it’s not a real wound. Obviously you’re not most people.
