Seven Perth the highest rating metropolitan television station in Australia again

Ray Wardrop_sml.jpgFor the fifth year in a row, Seven Perth has finished the official ratings period as the highest rating metropolitan TV station in Australia.

 

Seven Perth won 39 weeks of the 40 week official ratings period. Ten won the other week. Primary channels’ shares for Primetime (6:00pm – midnight) were Seven 26.4%, Ten 20.1% and Nine 19.5%

Ray Wardrop, General Manager of Channel Seven Perth (pictured) said: “The past 12 months has seen more changes to free-to-air television than in the past 50 years combined. The introduction of the all the new digital channels has been a real boon for viewers and we’re extremely happy that Seven has remained the most popular station in Perth. To us it’s not just about having an inventory filled with favourite programs and a News service that’s second to none, it’s also about connecting with the community through events like Telethon and the Christmas Pageant. Almost half of the top 50 series programs in 2010 were on Seven and nearly all of those are produced in Australia by Seven.  We’re very proud of the fact that we can produce home grown programs that strike a chord with Australian television audiences.”
