Farewell Lynne Formby

Those in the Perth industry that are as old as Campaign Brief will remember Lynne Formby (nee Gorer) as one of industry’s nicest and most respected media managers of the 80s and 90s. Sadly Lynne suffered an aneurysm and was on life support at Melbourne Hospital but never regained consciousness and died on Friday.
Lynne started her career as media manager in Perth at McCann Erickson before moving to join Dick and Mary Baynham at Baynham and then joining Alan Matthews at Merchant & Partners. After a great career in Perth Lynne moved East when her husband, David Formby, accepted a job in Melbourne.
Lynne was adored by her clients, the media and those in the industry that knew her. Her funeral is tomorrow in Paynesville.

I met Lynne at a boozy boardroom lunch around 25 years ago and we have been friends ever since. Lynne was timeless. I was in my 20’s and Lynne in her 40’s which made no difference to our friendship. She really enjoyed life and her marriage to David over the last 20 years seemed like a fairy tale. So sad that she’s gone and gone way to soon. Love Karen

Lynne was a wonderful person and I miss her dearly. She was kindhearted, had a free spirit and her smile would brighten anyones day. Her hugs were like a good book and a warm hot chocolate by the fireplace in winter, her eyes always held that spark that made you feel like you could fly and her voice was angelic. She will forever be in my heart and whenever I’m sad I’ll remember her laugh that made everyone laugh with her. She loved, loves, all and in return was and will always be loved by all. I was her Milly-Moo and she is my Oma :’)
