Underwater dancing for Royal Life Saving

303 Perth were briefed to address the number of alcohol related drownings amongst young men in Western Australia. Drunk guys dancing can look awkward, and they often end up isolated – not so dissimilar to the process of drowning. So, this was a pretty simple premise for the commercial 303 put together.

Unlike the spot above, this one is completely overcooked
Nice job, couple of gongs in there for sure. May even save a life or 2.
i really like it!!! when i read what the insight was i thought it was nice but no idea how you’d execute that..but you did it really well! top work im proud that that came out of perth!
da fuk?
where’s the correlation between the two scenario’s?
Am I missing something?
10.10am.
They first guy really likes the steak. So they use a sound like swords clashing to suggest he is willing to dual the other guy if he touches it again. The first guy then drinks too much and starts dancing underwater or something. The second guy just goes home and cooks his own steak which he is free to touch as much as he likes.
A nice simple idea that has been over complicated in it’s execution. What a shame,it could’ve been really good.
Hey I was a bit sceptical but the ad is actually really good!!! Even gave me chills.
Well done boys!
‘Over complicated’, ‘Overcooked’? What the fuck are you guys talking about? This is nice, simple insight that has been thoughtfully crafted. Well done to all. Nicely shot too Mylesy.
Richard, would Lindsay mind if you directed a spot for us?
What are you on about 12.11? This is great. Great grade, great cuts, great music, great insight. Great job.
One second we’re dancing, next we’re in the pool and on and on we go. The point is, it’s a great idea but the switching back and forth?? Ever heard of the KISS method. Classic case of the director falling in love with a shot so much that it takes precedents over the idea.
Hahahaahahahaah “overcomplicated in it’s execution.” What? Even I got it, and I’m from a ‘rival’ agency (much like 10.10am). Actually, maybe it’s a little overcomplicated… if you were a Dolphin watching tv (which they can do). But seeing as though this ad is aimed at people, and not Dolphins, then I’m guessing that most people will get it – i.e. Steak touching, duels, etc.
Thats a pretty deep pool for a backyard
This is definitely the best ad ever made.
1.45.
And where do the sweetcorn and tomatoes go when he puts the steak on the griddle?
Such negativity… Anyone would think there were a few jealous people in Perth?
