$150,000 to The Salvos from Oasis

OasisChq09_2.jpgSenior representative’s of Perth’s media, agencies and The Salvation Army gathered at Burswood’s (A)lure Bar yesterday evening for the presentation of proceeds of the 2009 Oasis Ball.

New Oasis Project chairman Nita Davey thanked the Ball’s major sponsors Adshel, Evoke Media and Media Tonic/ Torch Media and announced they had already signed on as major sponsors for the 2010 Ball. Davey also thanked Q Direct Press, WASP and Direct Image for all the print and signage work, as well as major auction organisers Adam Marshall and Amanda Reid, who have stood down from the committee.

Yvonne Hunt, manager of The Salvation Army’s Crossroads West program, explained how critical the Oasis contribution is to their work before Gavin Bain, chairman for the 09 Ball, presented the cheque for $150,000 to The Salvation Army’s Warren Palmer. Bain said total funds donated to Crossroads West from the 13 Ball’s held to date had now topped $1.5 million.

Planning for the 2010 Oasis Ball is already well underway. It will be held on Friday, March 19 and is heading back to Burswood after four years at the PCEC. There are some surprises in store, including a spectacular new after-party venue.
