WA consumers more confident: survey
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry says West Australians are more confident about the future of the economy. A survey of 400 people from metropolitan and regional WA showed consumer confidence has risen by 25 per cent from last quarter. Three-quarters of respondents believe the economy will rebound over the next year.
The chamber’s chief economist, John Nicolaou, says consumer confidence is key to boosting the state’s economy.
“There certainly has been a spike in confidence and that can only be good news to the extent that consumer attitudes, positive consumer attitudes, do lead to real economic outcomes,” he said.
Mr Nicolaou says consumer confidence is closely linked to economic recovery.
“There are very strong signs, both in terms of attitudes and also in terms of real economic conditions, that the worst of the global financial crisis might now be behind us,” he said.

don’t think the Vote Confidence campaign had anything to do with this. The campaiogn was a poor expression of this growing confidence, not the cause of it.
This news article is probably more effective than the whole campaign because it contains facts delivered in an intelligent and measured way.
Those 300 people should be applauded for reading the news!

Why so angry and bitter?
9.27am Are by any chance the author of… “Interesting comment can you enlighten us with some examples? Who generally is shooting down who – you don’t have to be specific, but this is just such a lame comment to throw out there. I presume that all comments made are for a reason. Its not all chocolates and roses. I look forward to your reply.” from a couple of days ago? The snippy tone seems familiar
Dear 12.19,
No.
Yours sincerely,

People in the ad industry really do believe their own bullshit!
This story has had enough resurrections to qualify for a religious holiday! Surely the angry anonnymous brigade have had ample opportunity to exhausted their spleens by now! Let it go people!
I’d suggest its in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry interests to have this story published. This is called Public Relations, often abbreviated to PR. It’s a simple yet (sometimes) effective way of promotion and marketing. Some might suggest more effective than, oh lets say – a smiley face advertising campaign. But like most things topical this is highly debatable. Who am I to judge? Swings and roundabouts people!! Enjoy the ride

That’s a no.
Secondly this is a totally different post, but more importantly I am the first to applaud either good reasoning, great work or alike.
I refrained from commenting on the ‘Confidence’ campaign although I did feel it was a little self indulgent.
I look forward to a bright future of constructive banter.
In regards to “The snippy tone sound familiar’ – well, take your pick from the thousands who use the site.
Have a nice day. It’s been quite beautiful outside If you managed, as I did to get out of the office.
As long as Clarkey doesn’t start his rambling again.
Hayley.
I am a bit confused. Are you 9.27/1.25 from this thread or the person that posted the same thing twice in the Block thread? If you are the latter, can we henceforth call you Chocolate & Roses? It’s a great name for a blogger and it would lift you above the general anonymi. “Hayley” is lovely, but it lacks cachet in the online environment. Of course, “NotSnippy” is now another option, too.
