Looking forward to seeing the quality of everything that first ran between the traditional end date of 30th June 09 and the new end date of 31st July 09. Maybe we should make a list here?
2.27. maybe we should all try hard during the whole year and not for one little comp at the end.
Craig Buchanan – Photographer of the Year.
You heard it here first.
The judges take on this category will be interesting:
“3.1 Radio single – retail. Ads promoting a product or service at a particular price or attached to an offer, mono or colour ”
2.27 Meooooow!
I take it you are suggesting there is an agenda here somewhere?
Back the PADC, back the new committee and back great local work.
4.07 – WTF???
Best hair- Mitch. GOLD Craig. SILVER
Back a winner. Back up the ute. Back to the future.
OK, now to the best scam category. And there are 3 finalists. They are. Brand- BluTack. Rare- Mercedes Downhill. 303 – Ikea Rubbish. And there are 3 winners of the gold award.
What category is 303 putting it’s IKEA garbage campaign?
Is it direct mail, posters or ambient?
Great idea getting inviting judges from WA. Well done committee.
Blu-Tack is a versatile, reusable putty-like pressure-sensitive adhesive.
The Brand campaign will win best of show. Great solution and media placement to a complex brief. Well done Brand. Make some space on the mantlepiece.
I love Mitch’s hair. It looks so hot. I can’t wait to see how it looks at the PADC’s?
Blu-Tack?
Bleeuur
If that mercedes campaign does win at PADC it means all of you creative guys have been sitting on your arses all year doin’ nothin’. I’m no creative, but even I know it’s not that good!
What the fuck have any of you done this year?
Fighting words 11.37am. Probably working on your crap briefs.
If Mercedes wins anything, I reckon there will be people walking out in disgust. Not good for the awards.
11.37 – here’s my response as a creative.
I’ve come up with plenty of decent (great even) ideas, that are all potentially award-winning solutions to real briefs and that present our clients with the opportunity to thrive despite the challenging financial conditions, yet i have one recurring setback.
The suit. The person in charge of reassuring the client that this is the best possible way to achieve their required business objectives, doesn’t want to work hard enough to to put the client at ease with what may initially seem a scary, uncomfortable idea.
In my view, creatives in this day and age are far superior to those of bygone eras, but the suits are far far worse. With all the “Planners” swanning around nowadays doing the strategic bit for you all, you wouldn’t think it’d be that hard to just focus on building a firm client/agency relationship based on trust, but you can’t even get that right.
What the fuck have you done in the last 5 years?
Does anyone think the Brand’s Blu-Tack campaign is an improvement on the DDB Singapore original?

Making the whole sellotape dispenser out of Blu-tack, rather than just the tape seems to take the idea in a whole new direction.
1.04pm. That is really unfair to compare campaigns. Did their campaign make the front cover of CB. NO! Is their so called client REAL. NO. Who cares about the dispenser. It is really unfair to bring this up before judging of the PADC AWARDS. I know the yellow background is a bit awkward but that was client interference. The idea is still strong. Back off.
You people are an embarrassment to your city. In the rest of the world, agencies do proactive campaigns for their clients and everyone knows they’re not for real briefs, but it’s one way of ensuring that come award time, they’ve got something worthwhile to enter. They don’t get discredited for being a scam. Come on you lot, it’s been going on for years, get with the fkn program. If you guys are seriously that worried about the Mercedes campaign winning over your work, maybe you should’ve tried harder. It’s as simple as that.
Reminds me of a time at school. We were asked to make a plaster sculpture of an everyday object. Someone made bread. Someone else made a tissue box. One genius filled a mug with plaster and said “I’ve made a cup of tea”.
I’d like to see a comeback from 3M. Magic tape. Go on.

“creatives in this day and age are far superior to those of bygone eras” – wtf does that mean?
