PADC ANNOUNCES THE INAUGURAL ‘CREATIVE CHAMPIONS OF THE YEAR AWARDS’
In line with the PADC’s brand promise of ‘Valuable Creativity’, and in partnership with The West Australian, we are delighted to launch the “Creative Champions of the Year Awards”: one for agency staff and the other for clients.
“I believe that the PADC plays a critical role in our industry in helping to develop creative talent in Western Australia. Creativity doesn’t just reside in the creative department. All those involved in the process of developing great work need to be recognised”, said President, Jeff Champtaloup.
The Awards will go to individuals who have contributed most to the cause of great creative work. Nominations could come from clients, account service, planning, production, digital or media. Deadline for nominations is close of business on Friday, November 28, 2008. (There will be a limit of two nominations for each category from individual organisations).
The West Australian’s sponsorship of the inaugural Awards is $2500 each towards a trip to the 2009 Caxton for both winners.
The successful nominees will be announced at the PADC Award Night to be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Friday, December 12, 2008.
The selection criteria and entry kits are available from the Club Manager, Elizabeth Bindon-Bonney at lizbb@padc.com.au or by Mobile: 0419 723 801.

does being a champion in general count?
My vote goes to Elliot from 303 – for managing to get 90% of advertisings female contingent into coconut bra’s, short skirts or barely there dresses on Friday for the Youngbloods piss-up.
Well done Elliot!
Well done 12:12 – For a second there I thought that we may have gotten through a CB post without a hint of misogyny. Thanks for bringing the blog back to the level of discussion that we have come to expect. It would seem to be 1970 in the Perth advertising industry…
Keep it up.
This is a very confusing description of this award. Is this another award for a creative team?
“The West Australian’s sponsorship of the inaugural Awards is $2500 each towards a trip to the 2009 Caxton for both winners.”
Can it go to a client? a photographer like Alan Myles? What about an account manager?
Please explain more detail PADC.
10.03 – The agency award is for agency staff outside the creative department and the client award is for, well, clients. As it says above, “nominations could come from clients, account service, planning, production, digital or media.” So, the agency staff winner gets a trip to the Caxtons and so does the client winner. Unfortunately for Mylesy, he has “nae chance”. If anything else is unclear I suggest you call Liz and get a copy of the entry criteria, which I believe are very clear.
babysitting clients at the caxtons. great idea.
They’re two separate awards aren’t they? So the client could well work with another agency so no babysitting required?
