MARKETFORCE LOSE PLANNING DIRECTOR
Marketforce group consumer planning director Derry Simpson has resigned from the agency.
When contacted Marketforce chairman John Driscoll confirmed Simpson had left and said that she had wanted to take a good break from the industry and spend time with relatives in the eastern states.
“Derry has told us she is planning to return to Perth at the end of the year and at that stage, if she decides to remain in Perth, the plan is to talk to her about working on some of our clients on a contract basis.”
Simpson joined Marketforce in 2006 and helped establish the Marketforce Consulting business unit. She has over 15 years experience in the marketing industry. Having worked on some of the country’s largest FMCG brand portfolios; charged with the responsibility of driving the consumer thinking and strategic planning for these brands; Derry has held Senior Marketing Management and Strategy positions with companies such as the Fosters Group, Carlton and United Breweries, Bulla Dairy Foods and Diageo Australia.

CB just wondering about the pic (it isn’t Derry Simpson)…
Err, yes it is 7.40
i heard she’s got different plans.
From what I hear it’s R&R at Marketforce these days – both Redundancies and Resignations in full force.
Whoever it is, she’s got a ghost arm. RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!
seriously guys, that arm is fucking terrifying. Drop shadows doth not an arm make.
Err, could those plans include joining a rival agency?
I’ve met someone who met her and they tell me she has two arms – although she is going to one of those Singaporean plastic surgeons to get the drop shadow removed……I wish her the best of luck in whatever she ends up doing……..
Name the agency…
Yeah, drop shadow arms are so 90s. She’s doing the right thing, taking time off to get it sorted.
Any guess of mine would be just a shot in the dark 8.42
11.59 – I don’t think she is going to 303 if that’s what you are implying?
Wanna bet?
Not what I heard. I heard she is considering joining the only agency in town that takes planning seriously. That’s if she hangs around ….. think about it ….
So 9.49 is saying she’s joining Meerkats.
11.59 is saying it’s 303.
MFe are saying she’s going to work part-time, if she remains in Perth.
Why resign and then come back? Why go and play second fiddle to Ronnie Duncan? Why not join an agency that desperately needs help in their high-end account service offering?
I’m getting in on the bet with 9.35am (but I don’t think odds would pay much!)
She’s joining us.
Meerkats don’t need another planner.
A half decent creative is what they want.
