Perth web design company, Webfirm – a division of Ansearch Limited (ASX:ANH) – has chosen Melbourne as the launching pad for the country’s first web business storefront.

Doors officially open today, July 23rd, at Webfirm’s new St Kilda Road premises, with Melbourne selected because of its high number of small businesses with an entrepreneurial mindset. Webfirm’s online consulting services have been well-established over eight years of successful operation but the  company believes the physical Melbourne store will provide even better service to small and medium enterprise (SME) customers.

Additional storefronts in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney are being planned once the model is proven.

Andrew Beecher, executive officer of Webfirm said: “Our new Webfirm store puts a friendly face to the website design process, and allows clients to meet with designers, provide input and merge a formal business relationship with a casual appointment location. In addition customers can walk in, enjoy a coffee and discuss a range of products that can increase online and mobile visibility and sales.”

SME’s will have easy, face-to-face access to Webfirm’s expertise, which includes search engine marketing, search engine optimisation, website hosting, marketing consultancy, e-commerce advice, permission-based marketing, email marketing, content management tools, Mobile site development and advertising and domain name management.

Ansearch chief executive officer, David Burden, said: “Opening a physical shopfront in Melbourne is a major strategic step for Webfirm because not only is it the first step in expanding Webfirm on the eastern seaboard, the retail concept makes it easier to actually connect at the same level with SME’s. Webfirm’s SME focus is an important strategy for the overall growth of the Ansearch business model.”

“We’re delighted to be open for business in St Kilda Road and already we are surprised by the number of customers walking in the door to talk about online and then purchasing websites or marketing campaigns on the spot,” said Justin Bruce, Webfirm’s Melbourne general manager.

Webfirm will announce additional stores in the near future, with the next opening likely to be in Perth.
