TVW-7’s top performing programmes for Total People included News, Border Security – Australia’s Front Line RPT, Battle of the Choirs, Today Tonight, Australia’s Got Talent and Surf Patrol. The premiere of Battle of the Choirs proved popular taking fourth position with Total People and averaging 240,000 viewers. It also grabbed the number one spot with People 35-54 and made the top five with People 25-39 and 25-54. The season finale of Brothers and Sisters only made the top fifteen with People 18-39 and 25-39. STW-9’s strongest programmes this week were Sea Patrol 2 – The Coup, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, 60 Minutes and David Attenborough’s Elephant – A Spy in the Herd. Although down in audience figures from last week, Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares made it into the top five with People 18-39 and remains in the top five with People 25-39. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation took top spot with People 25-54. The return of Tracy Grimshaw to A Current Affair this week seems to have given the programme a slight boost with Tuesday night up 12,000 viewers and Wednesday up 11,000 viewers from last week.
NEW-10 had a disappointing week with only NCIS making the top fifteen programmes for Total People.
Ten News at Five continues to dominate the top five programmes in the day time segment for Total People. Also in the top five was NEW-10’s Saturday Night AFL match – West Coast Eagles vs Geelong with154, 000 viewers.
TEN NETWORK
The Ten network have announced that they will abolish on-screen credits at the end of the programmes in an attempt to stop viewers from switching channels between shows. Ten introduced the policy recently for all commissioned programmes that require all production partners to exclude crew details from shows’ end credits and provide on their website instead. A spokesperson said the change was intended to “maximise accelerated audience flow that is, getting viewers from one show to the next quickly”.
